Beaconhill Smile Foundation was first founded by its visioneer, Dr. Oluwaseun Akinbobola the MD and CEO of Beaconhill Smile Group in 2013. Being a man of great foresight, he saw it as a medium to change lives of indigent communities by providing basic as well as free quality healthcare services. The Foundation’s first outreach was held at Ikosi Community Primary School, Ketu in 2013. In 2019, the Foundation was officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as an NGO. Upon registration, the Foundation commenced its 1 for 10 partnership with Exclusive Smile Clinic.
The 1 for 10 partnership with Exclusive Smile is a funding initiative whereby profit from any major procedure in Exclusive Smile shall be utilized in catering for 10 indigent beneficiaries in a community. The Foundation also had a major outreach at Somolu Local Government in 2019. In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Foundation provided free PPE’s to several Dental Clinics across Lagos. The people of Idanre Local Government in Ondo state were not left out as the Foundation held its annual medical outreach to its indigents in 2021. The Foundation started with only dental care, then added optical in 2022 and in 2023 it included basic medical care.
In 2023, Beaconhill Foundation partnered with DrugAid Africa for several outreach activities to local communities such as: Precious seed community Ferry Oworonshoki and Sogunro Waterfront Community, Makoko in Lagos State to provide free drugs, medical, dental and eye care for all.
By April 2023, the Foundation partnered with Lakeshore Cancer center for a 5km health walk to raise awareness against the menace of Oral Cancer. The walk which was publicized in both local and international news outlets, radio, newspaper and TV across the country, was a huge success as all participants and beneficiaries got free oral and breast cancer checks
On the 20th of December 2023, the Beaconhill Smile Foundation held the maiden edition of its Annual Medical Outreach at the Community High School, Alapere Ketu community. This successful medical outreach was in collaboration with the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Kosofe Branch and a list of several sponsors such as: First Cardiology Consultants, Lead Wellness, JustBrantIt, 7Zero Group amongst others. Over 500 indigents benefited from Free Medical, Dental and Eye care. There was also free food and musical presentations
